Swim a thon Update
Just an update for the website on the success of the Swim a Thon.
To date:
$27,172.46!!!!!!!!!!!
There are still inquires daily as to where to send money, so there is more on the way.
Thanks to the school and teams, as well as the great community for supporting this event. I haven't spoken with the Oka family to give them this number, but I am sure they are thankful to all of the community and school supporters.
Thank you for your tremendous support.Your support added up to over $19,000.00! WOW! There were over 130 team and community swimmers who swam over 20,000 laps. These swimmers were cheered on by parents and friends who showed up to help hand out waters to the athletes, as well as coffee, donated by Buon Giorno (a new coffee business on 17th next to Wendy's) and donuts from Oh Those Donuts on Newport Blvd. Thanks to the businesses for their support. If you or your friends, neighbors or associates still wish to contribute, you may continue to send your contributions to:

New addition to our family!
The girl's swim team at Newport Harbor is excited to announce the addition of Jenna Murphy to its coaching Staff.
With a squad of approximately 80 girl swimmers for the current season we feel the addition of Coach Murphy will help with the needed attention to run successful program.
Coach Murphy graduated Newport Harbor in 2003, and continued her education at the University of California at Los Angeles where she was a member of the NCAA winning women's waterpolo team.
She brings with her an excitement to work with her former school and a life's knowledge of swimming and waterpolo.
